From the Founder
The deeper I looked at what the beauty industry was offering, the more I found myself returning to what I had grown up with.
The hammam was never a quiet retreat. It was warm, lively, communal. There was steam, running water, conversation, and the unmistakable scent of rose water, rhassoul, and zahr, the orange blossom that gives Dar Zahr its name.
The rituals were simple. The ingredients came from the earth: Clay to cleanse. Rose water to refresh. Oils pressed from seeds. Botanicals that had been used for generations, not because they were fashionable, but because they worked.
The more I learned about modern skincare, the more remarkable that simplicity became.
Why cover the skin in dozens of ingredients when a handful of exceptional ones can do more? Why reach for something synthetic when the Maghreb has given us botanicals with centuries of history behind them?
That question became Dar Zahr.

Tunisia, early 1990s
Dar Zahr—House of Blossom—is a modern interpretation of the rituals I grew up with, built around ingredients chosen for their origin, their quality, and what they can actually do for the skin.
From mineral-rich rhassoul to cold-pressed Prickly Pear Seed Oil, we look to the botanicals of the Maghreb not for nostalgia, but for their remarkable properties. We formulate with intention, leaving out what doesn’t serve the skin and focusing on what does.
No parabens. No sulphates. No synthetic fragrance. Nothing added simply to make a formula longer, louder, or more impressive.
Because luxury, to us, is not excess.
It is knowing exactly what belongs.
Dar Zahr is where the beauty rituals of the Maghreb meet modern skincare.
Rooted in the Maghreb. Handcrafted in Canada.
With intention,
