Rhassoul Clay

Origin: Morocco | Process: Sun-Dried & Milled | Certifications: 100% Natural Mineral

INCI: Ghassoul Lava Clay

Rhassoul comes from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, where it has been used for centuries in traditional hammam bathing rituals. Its name originates from the Arabic word ghassala (غسل), meaning "to wash."

When mixed with water, it transforms into a smooth, silky paste that cleanses gently without stripping the skin's natural oils, leaving it refreshed, soft, and balanced. If you've used clay masks in the past and felt tight afterward, you likely left them on too long. Rhassoul is exceptionally effective at drawing out impurities, but it should stay moist on the skin to prevent over-drying.

Ritual Tip: Always mix your clay using a wooden, glass, or ceramic bowl and utensil. Metal can react with the clay’s natural negative charge, dampening its purifying benefits.

Key Benefits & Science:

  • Targeted Mineral Absorption: Exceptionally rich in silica, magnesium, potassium, and calcium, which nourish the skin while absorbing excess surface oil and impurities.

  • High Cation-Exchange Capacity: Possesses a unique negative electrostatic charge that naturally attracts positively charged dirt, sebum, and daily buildup from the skin's surface without disrupting its delicate moisture barrier.

  • Gentle Exfoliation & Clarity: Refines skin texture and minimizes the appearance of pores through mild physical and ionic purification, making it suitable for sensitive skin.

Ideal For: All skin types, particularly oily, combination, congested, or sensitive skin.
